Since 1989, in the Cenerentola workshop the artisan Lidiana Vallongo has continued the family tradi-tion of working with antique fabrics and lace, which are typical of the island of Burano, and creating original lampshades.

Initially her interest was directed to the restoration of antique lace, especially needlelace made with the traditional techniques of Burano. Subsequently she began to use these precious fabrics, reinventing their function and creating original lampshades.

Each lamp is a uniquely handcrafted piece that is realised in a particular form, called "on cartouche”. This form allows light to pass above and below the structure, emphasising the embroidery present on the lampshade.

Silk or tulle fabrics are used and are hand embroidered with gold and silver threads or crystal beads and sequins. The lamps, each one distinct, thanks to the inimitable quality of the fabrics with which they are made, they appear to be unique and imbued with Venetian history.
