Fabiano Amadi

Master glassmaker

"Each creation is made by putting together several elements, but there are two fundamental ones: technique and heart."

Glassmaking is more than just a job for Fabiano Amadi: it is a passion that has become his world. A world in Murano, the island where this skilled master glassmaker took his first steps in the profession. The first time he entered the foundry, he recalls, he had finished sixth grade. Working was a necessity and learning a trade was important. So, it was that glass which immediately gave him something special: a sense of proportion and harmony of form. Pupil of Francesco Barbini, during his years of apprenticeship, Fabiano learned the oldest techniques that allowed him to make any type of glass object, from the most difficult ones in very thin glass (with which he makes extraordinary goblets) to very heavy works. A particular strength is necessary because in some moments of the workmanship it is necessary to support the entire weight of the object to be forged. Almost a struggle with a material to be tamed in order to give shape to ideas in unique objects each time. Creativity and technique make this craftsman particularly appreciated by big fashion brands also for the use of gold in his creations.
