Eyes: These are my deep brown eyes. I'm scattering them all over the place to keep an eye on you. Like the eyes on antique dolls, these eyes are handmade glass, each one slightly different. Thingness Collection: Decorating bodies with body parts helps us appreciate the joy that comes from accepting our objectivity, 'Thingness' as contemporary artist Paul Thek calls it, referring to the Capuchin Catacombs in Palermo. The Thingness collection is inspired by Thek's work and consists of body “pieces” such as eyes, teeth, breasts, legs and makes use of humor as a tool for acceptance. Murano Glass has an incredible array of colors, but they weren't vivid or realistic enough. I created glass slats by contaminating the glass with other colors and materials to create a unique pattern each time. Materials: Effetre Murano glass and raw brass. Hypoallergenic.
