Enrico Simionato - L'angolo d'Oro

Goldsmith

"Even though times are not easy, being a goldsmith is now my path. A tiring and sometimes painful path, but still exciting. A path opened and traveled over time in Venice by goldsmiths who had refined hands and visionary minds, of whose secrets and skills I dare to think I am an heir to, at least in part. They are the giants on whose shoulders, in my own small way, I ideally sit when I am at work at my bench."

There is a street in Venice, at the foot of the Rialto Bridge, called "ruga dei oresi" which in Venetian means "the street of the goldsmiths". Enrico Simionato learned the art of goldsmithing right there in an ancient workshop, patiently observing the hands of two artisans, Elio and Adolfo, applying knowledge and styles handed down over time by generations of goldsmiths. Many years have now passed since that apprenticeship and since Enrico set up his own business. His workshop is now located near the Basilica dei Frari and offers an important service of repair and maintenance of precious objects in addition to the creation and sale of jewelry, gold, and silverware. Enrico is particularly good at restoring, adapting or adjusting all those jewels that require it. He has a refined clientele that demands a lot despite his small workshop where he masters the techniques of embossing, fretwork, engraving, and doming, using precious and semi-precious metals and stones for his creations.
